We are faithless

Life is difficult and we lack faith in God. God has a great plan for mankind but we can't fathom the great plan of God.
Abram had times when he doubted God. Abram needed a child to give his inheritance. Abram was a old man that doubted that his wife could give birth to an child.
The thoughts of God are not the thoughts of mankind. We see the events of the day but God sees eternity.
He wants people to believe in him.
God comforted Abram because God is the Father. God wants to bless his children. This requires faith. Abram needed to trust God.
Mankind needs faith today. Mankind is separated from the Lord because we sin. Jesus died on the cross and conquered death. People need to repent from their sins. This requires faith, then the person to follow Jesus.
Abram thought that he need to help God. God doesn't need our help.
God will do a miracle in the history of Abram. Abram will become a father.
Abram believed God and God liked the faith of Abram.
We need to believe the promises of God.

Genesis 15:1-6

After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:

“Do not be afraid, Abram.
    I am your shield,
    your very great reward.”
But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
