Have a difficult time, say a prayer

There is an idea out in the culture. If a person have a difficult time then that person should pray.
This is not a bad idea but I have to explain effective prayer.
Many people want to live in their sins and hate God. Then that person wants God to hear their prayers.
The wicked person needs to repent from their sins and then follow Jesus.
If a person have true repentance then God will guide this person.
Why do people think that God should be everything for them and the same people can mock God?
The follower of God will want to know the true will of the Lord. The Lord will hear this prayer and the follower needs to heed the command.

Proverbs 15:8

 The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked,
    but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
