The walk of life for him and you

Jacob made a solemn vow on this occasion. In this observe, 1. Jacob's faith. He trusts that God will be with him, and will keep him; he depends upon it. 2. Jacob's moderation in his desires. He asks not for soft clothing and dainty meat. If God give us much, we are bound to be thankful, and to use it for him; if he gives us but little, we are bound to be content, and cheerfully to enjoy him in it. 3. Jacob's piety, and his regard to God, appear in what he desired, that God would be with him, and keep him. We need desire no more to make us easy and happy. Also his resolution is, to cleave to the Lord, as his God in covenant. When we receive more than common mercy from God, we should abound in gratitude to him. The tenth is a fit proportion to be devoted to God, and employed for him; though it may be more or less, as God prospers us, 1Co 16:2. Let us then remember our Bethels, how we stand engaged by solemn vows to yield ourselves to the Lord, to take him for our God, and to devote all we have and are to his glory!

Genesis 28:20-22

 

²⁰ Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear ²¹ so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord will be my God ²² and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Sex, children and salvation

There are many blessing in this life. The gift of sex, children and salvation in this life.
God has given the desire for sex. It gives pleasure to mankind.
The sad thing about sex is that people abuse this gift. Sex is for marriage only. Marriage is between a woman and man. People want to change this but they need to answer to God someday.
I have to be honest. I need to do a fast to control my sexual desires. I don't think I will be married so I need to fast for purity.
There is a place in the human heart that desire children. Children bring joy to their parents. I can't explain this but children are adorable. I believe that God has placed this in the human heart.
The best gift in this life is salvation from sin and hell. The cross of Jesus brings life. We are sinners that deserve hell. We are freed from sin and hell when a person repents from their sins.
The people of ancient days and today people  have this in common. We love sex and children. But the best offer in this life is Jesus Christ to the human heart.

Genesis 4:25-26

 

²⁵ Adam made love to his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.” ²⁶ Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.

At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord.

The farmer have grain

This Proverb is interesting, so a person needs to study this verse. If the Lord gives blessing in the person's life then the person needs to give to the Lord. We need to give every thing to the Lord. In the Old Testament, some Jews didn't give all the grain to the Lord. God wasn't happy with dishonest gain. God sees everything we do in this life.

Proverbs 11:26

 People curse the one who hoards grain,
    but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.

 

Amos 8:5-7

 

⁵ saying,

“When will the New Moon be over
    that we may sell grain,
and the Sabbath be ended
    that we may market wheat?”—
skimping on the measure,
    boosting the price
    and cheating with dishonest scales,
⁶ buying the poor with silver
    and the needy for a pair of sandals,
    selling even the sweepings with the wheat.

⁷ The Lord has sworn by himself, the Pride of Jacob: “I will never forget anything they have done.
