In an era when it was common to believe the sky was a solid dome. The Bible explains correctly this, God spreading the skies over empty space and suspending the earth over nothing.
Job 26:7
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.
The Bible is compatible with true scientific findings, but it anticipated many of them. Scientific knowledge is compatible with the truths of Scripture.
