There is a great force in the human soul and in the system of the world. The great force is called sin.
Everyone have temptation and a person can follow or not. Every human being have a sinful nature.
I know this because I can do wrong and it is easy to do.
There are two groups in mankind. One group refuse to follow Jesus. When a person is not renewed by the blood of Jesus then the sinful nature will control the human being. Many people keep doing bad but they don't know why. It is called the sinful nature, this group need to have the Holy Spirit to enter their soul.
A person can receive the Holy Spirit. Mankind is separated from God. Mankind have sinned so they are damned to hell and a decision is needed. A person need to know that they are a sinner. The sin of mankind can be forgiven when a person repent from their sin. Jesus died on the cross and arose from the dead.
When a person desire the cross of Jesus and they follow Jesus and not sin. Then they will receive the Holy Spirit.
The second group is the followers of Jesus. They have two natures when they live in this world. They have the sinful nature and the life with the Spirit. The sinful nature don't have to control the follower of Jesus.
When the follower read the Bible and pray then they have life with the Spirit. But if they don't read the Bible and pray then the sinful nature will control.
If you are a follower of Jesus then you need to follow Jesus with all your heart, mind and soul. You will have a clean conscience. I can have a wicked heart by God redeem people.
If you are not a follower of Jesus. There is no book that can help you. The Holy Spirit only can help you.
You need to repent from your sins and follow Jesus. Then your conscience will be clean. Then your soul soul will be clean.
